Begging For Scraps

Anyone who thinks that there is loyalty in the music business is deluded. Being friends with someone or kissing arse because you're desperately waiting for them to throw you a bone is not only embarrassing but as a human being you are worth far more than that. I have heard people slag the industry off and complain to high heaven about why this and why that but I have this and I have that. This song could be massive for that person and so fourth and I'M THE BEST WRITER IN THE WORLD AND I NEARLY SOLD A MILLION RECORDS BUT GOT SCREWED OVER! (YEAH YOU AND THE REST OF THE FUCKING CREATIVE WORLD HUNNY!) The best way to get over that feeling of high expectancy and relentless disappointment is to simply stop looking to the big gate keeps to grant you access but look to the smaller highly creative groups that are making waves independently and are not still making music the old school way by looking through music week and seeing who produced the last hit or picking the writers and producers that have been around for years but actually aren't really advancing anymore (cos every record or song sounds the same as there last.) Or everyone thinks it has to be great just cos its them, emperors new clothes kind of shit. The music business is getting smaller and smaller and the few ways of making money are given to the old blood and not the new if you're a writer. If you're an artist then its different , if you're good and you're resilient then you may stand a chance but fuck me you better me good. There is no room for development now so you best be knowing who you are and hand it to these hungry but lazy sharks on a silver platter with balloons and fireworks just incase they're too nonchalant to notice. I say stop complaining , stop kissing the wrong asses and create your own product. They don't need you and you don't need them. Who wants to be stuck in an office with dinosaurs that take 2 years or more of your precious time to know what the hell to do with you anyway and that includes both record companies and most lazy ass publishers. You won't get shit anyway?? Not like you're gonna make any money from songwriting anymore so what you chasing? You'll get far more enjoyment out of doing your own THANG...TRUST ME...AND...who wants to be with a label that puts you with every writer in the world thats been there and done that but still can't managed to produce a ground breaking HIT! Search for eager beavers, new and exciting blood with vision don't waste your time on the top 5% of the music industry that don't want or have to pay it forward. Unless you're a friend of Ed Sheeran of course cos he's a nice guy. PEACE OUT! THE GOSPEL OF RYAN.
